True West’s Future Filmmakers After-School Program is an 8-week filmmaking program where students learn the fundamentals of filmmaking and discover creative ways to bring their stories to life. Each student will have a unique opportunity to work in different roles of filmmaking and storytelling, learning essential skills about media, teamwork, and communication. Every student will leave with a film they created and, hopefully, a new confidence to share their stories and perspectives. The Film Lab is now open! This is an opportunity for students with a project already in mind or who have started a project to come to work independently with our film pros and teaching artists one-on-one! If students want to make a film but don’t know where to start, this is the place for them. They can learn different elements of filmmaking and have access to gear and editing tools to get them where they want to go. Whether students are almost done with a project and need an extra push or are stuck in the beginning stages of planning, True West Film Lab can offer the support they need to help them complete their projects.
