Art Makers + Film Makers Camp

About

True West Summer Film Camps offer a range of filmmaking experiences for students ages 7-14 years old. Led by teaching artists Heather Murray, Jesus Salazar Montero, Sandro Oliva, and Pamela Kennemore, our summer camps reflect our commitment to providing media arts education to students throughout Sonoma County.

Morning sessions center around the question: What can we create that others can see or interact with on the sidewalk or around town? Using site-specific installations (and maybe some performance), we’ll bring joy and interest to the everyday streetscape with our own public art creations.

Filmmaking is the focus of each afternoon, with campers exploring how to bring their stories to life as short films. Working in several different areas of the filmmaking process, campers learn essential skills about media, team work, and communication as they craft their own short movies.

Art Makers + Filmmakers Camp is offered in partnership with community artist Asherah Weiss.
