Assistant to the General Manager

The Assistant to the General Manager (AGM) supports the daily operations of True West Film Center’s cinema, helping to deliver exceptional guest experiences and operational efficiency. This part-time role is ideal for a motivated, organized professional with a background in theater operations, hospitality, or the arts. The AGM assists in managing theater operations, staff coordination, and box office reporting, while ensuring a welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality environment that reflects True West’s mission to bring film and media arts to Northern Sonoma County.
Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

  • Support the General Manager with daily cinema operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and shift oversight.
  • Assist with box office reporting, reconciliation, and daily/weekly financial summaries.
  • Monitor concession and merchandise inventory; support vendor communication and supply orders.
  • Track and coordinate maintenance requests, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records for payroll, scheduling, and operational reporting.

Guest Services

  • Model excellent customer service and professionalism for all staff.
  • Assist in resolving guest inquiries, complaints, or accessibility requests with empathy and efficiency.
  • Uphold True West’s brand values—welcoming, community-focused, and family-friendly.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cinema operations, hospitality, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with Theater Management Systems (TMS) and box office reporting preferred
  • Point of Sale (POS), and is required.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and basic office software; familiarity with Agile, Smartsheet, or similar systems preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and/or bicultural experience with the Latinx community is a plus.
  • Experience in arts or nonprofit organizations preferred.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
Benefits & Wages

Salary: $27-$30/hour, commensurate with experience (part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week). Includes eligibility for benefits and paid time off.
