Our Bodies & Other Shames (followed by filmmaker Q&A)

Join us for the Kickoff Celebration of “What Jewish Looks Like: Come for the Films, Stay for the Conversation,” a program at True West featuring films and events that explore Jewish Life and identity. 

The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Jenny Lester and writer/producer Malka Wallick.

Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a complimentary glass of sparkling wine courtesy of Longboard Vineyards. A reception at The Harris Gallery will follow the screening and Q&A. 

Film description:
When a trio of estranged childhood friends receive devastating news, they reunite for one night in the Brooklyn of their youth, where they are haunted by their younger selves who demand that the past come achingly into the present.

What Jewish Looks Like is a cultural convening consisting of films, discussions, gatherings and festivities presented over the course of three months and culminating in a full weekend of programming, February 25-28, 2027. The program is presented by Jewish Healdsburg, The Joy Fund, Reboot, and True West Film Center.
